Onesimus
One vital but less-known story from early America is that of Onesimus, an African man enslaved in the colonies who helped change the shape of American medicine.
Infectious disease outbreaks were a too-familiar nightmare for the colonists - and in 1721, a particularly serious smallpox epidemic was ravaging Boston. Before knowledge of inoculation had spread to these shores, the practice was well-known in West Africa - and it was none other than Onesimus who first shared this life-changing method of prevention.

Like many others in the comments, I stumbled upon this video while doing homework. However, I must admit that it is one of the most inspirational videos I have ever seen.
Rap is talking rythmically in time to music, hip hop is using a looped section of another piece of music to create a backing track, they are not the same thing or interchangable terms. Rap is much deeper, more diverse and started much earlier
Lies. Cubsn domnicans Puerto Rican only NYC blacks created hip hop..brinx created zero hip hop from nyc not bronx. Go watch fort apache the bronx no hip hop just lies
Here is a striking example of how the mainstream authoritarian narrative removes the Father of "Black Studies," Dr. Nathan Hare, from the historical narrative. For a more accurate perspective, remove the mainstream narrator and read Dr. Hare's "NATHAN HARE ON BLACK STUDIES."

Can't take anything.Henry Lewis Gates say seriously because obviously he doesn't do his research.
Wow!!! Well done Spain, amazing video. I didn't know about this. This should be taught at school throughout all the US but I guess it won't be done cause there's no interest in talking good things about other country and recognize they did much better than the british or the US.
Whos here after rogan 😂
Don't forget all the Irish and Scottish Slaves in the Colonies!
If consider recruitment or involvement with USA military, then regard betrayal, disparity, injuries, injustice, civil, criminal, & human rights violations happening that are suppressed from exposure ... There are risk, hazard, danger, & harm among human rights violations with atrocity happening among medical, health, & hospital in USA especially amid Veterans Exploitation Industrial Complex. Beside banal, irresponsible, & neglectful there are immoral, negligent, malevolent, & outright evil people among conniving intrusive parasitic NGOs, malfeasance, kleptocracy, & systemic corruption characterize deteriorated social institutions in USA that betray, coverup, obstruct, reprisal & retaliate, further endanger, harm, & violate happening amid Veterans Exploitation Industrial Complex from California to Ohio, San Diego to Chillicothe, Columbus, Lancaster, et al ridden with risk, hazard, harm, corruption, & violations. Advise beware & avoid all Veterans Admin/Affairs facilities along with Ohio Health (especially Columbus & Circleville OH locations) among others comprising that awful abusive dangerous network, since systemic corruption from federal to state, county, & city beside expressly promote & indulge anti-white male bias, discrimination, prejudice, & malicious racist-hate motivated incidents of assault & battery, with willfully inflict injury & trauma, abduction, torture, physical assault & battery, sexual assault & rape, fraud, slander, persecution, terrorism, bribery, malfeasance, collusion & complicit involvement among violations happening that get suppressed from exposure much less investigate, charge, pursue due process, & accountability else upon report then risk further harm from reprisal & retaliation while outright evil people are indulged to further harm & violate innocent people especially target military retirees & veterans with those characterizations mentioned.
Rest in peace Willie Mays
This is unfortunate and awesome at the same time. Segregation was horrible. End racism ✌️ (unfortunate that they had to make a separate league due to racism) (awesome that they were able to make a separate league because of racism)
Why is it acceptable to be black and proud but not white and proud?
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Fuck the naacp long live johnny rebel the white nation lives on
Stokley is not native-born American. He is actually an immigrant from Trinidad. Many black immigrants from the Caribbean assimilated and integrated to the local black American community.
NOT ONLY BLACK PLAYERS GOT LITTLE OF THE GAMES PROCEEDS, THE SAME WAS TRUE FOR THEIR WHITE COUNTERPARTS. IT WASN'T A COLOR THING IT WAS A GREED THING. NOT UNTIL CURT FLOOD RISKED HIS CAREER CHALLENGING THE RESERVE CLAUSE DID YOU SEE ANY PLAYERS GETTING PAID WELL EXCEPT FOR THE PREIMER PLAYERS. SO ALL PLAYERS TODAY SHOULD BE TIPPING THEIR HATS TO MR FLOOD WHO DID MORE FOR ALL PLAYERS THAN JACKIE ROBISON DID FOR BLACK PLAYERS. CURT PUT HIS CARRER AND HIS LIVELYHOOD ON THE LINE AND GOT NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. THERE SHOULD BE A CURT FLOOD DAY AS WELL.
Oh please. HANK AARON literally got Death Threats on the field, just because he was beating a White Player’s home run record. Cry me a River.
Bro this is my favorite music genre!
My heart bleeds from seeing this. I’m praying for our black farmers and family’s eternally. God bless!
I just learned that South Carolina wouldn't stand for "Negro Soldiers" training in the state, for fighting in WW1. Isn't it fitting that today, South Carolina is still leading the charge as the most ignorant of all 50 states, by supporting a criminal for president, also from NY, merely because he's a racist. It's gonna be fun to watch y'all be on the wrong side of history, yet again.
❤️🖤💚
What goes around will eventually come around
Americans sicken me, and I am white(who was not considered as white before WW2).
Good on blacks , taking care of these whites
What else is new?
I grew up in fort Lee New Jersey and remember seeing clips from his films there he used the studios there for his work . Very interesting person .
Separation is the only solution, and Black Nationalism is the methodology. Do for self or suffer the consequences.
There should only be one power and that's the human power.

Not just Black People were lynched.
Thank you, Dr. Gates. For shining a light on yet another area of African American life that has been kept out of our children’s everyday history books.🫡 (And this was only in one area of Sports. So much more to be acknowledged. In all Facets of American history.)
Let us celebrate black history month and the great accomplishments of this great man & brother “ Oscar “ today we have the Oscar but no one knows who he was to this nation and America 🇺🇸 history.

@@joiisler8986 nah I 100% agree with you. These guys were incredible through their perseverance. Especially Goose Tatum and Hank Aaron. I’ve seen their history. But in todays standards, Indianapolis clowns is still funny 🤡
@@gsb408 By today’s “standards,” not everything that comes out of one’s mouth Actually Needs to come out of one’s mouth. Especially with the world listening. There is a time and a place. Sometimes it is appropriate to just Respect The Legacy. js

US doctors and others involved in this experiment were also involved in similar experiments in prisons in the US and on several thousand orphans (some as young as 10), mentally ill people, epileptics, soldiers, prostitutes and prisoners in Guatemala also without their knowledge or consent. In Guatemala they wilfully infected many of the subjects or allowed them to be infected by others. One mentally ill woman who was already close to dying was further deliberately infected with gonorrhea in her eyes and urethra as part of the experiment. While many of these experiments were going on Nazzis from Germany were on trial at Nuremberg for carrying out human experiments. The results of a commission investigating some of these atrocities was deliberately released on the same day as the O.J. Simpson murder trial verdict so it would be overshadowed. Several of the doctors and scientists involved later reached high positions in the Public Health Services, Assistant or Surgeon General or top posts at various universities or had scholarships or centers named after them. The US has conducted experiments of various sorts on MILLIONS of its citizens without their knowledge or consent, in schools, prisons, health institutions and on military personnel, releasing a variety of agents and toxins over cities, in subways, stadiums, in public events, in the water supply. Quaker Oats Company and MlT even participated in a government experiment where kids were fed radi0actif oatmeal.
